Natasha and Charles - Esession

Love is in the air!!
We met Natasha and Charles during a bridal show at Cranberry Resort last year. We spoke for a bit about their Canada Day Wedding plans, and I knew instantly that they would be So much fun to photograph. Their charisma and charm really show through their images: allowing them to tell their own personal love story through their photographs. We really look forward to capturing more of their story at their upcoming July 1st wedding!

Becky & Luc: E-session

Adventure and Romance!
We met in the heart of Beaver Valley, at Eugenia Falls, to photograph Becky and Luc's Engagement Session. It was a little chilly, but turned out to be an otherwise gorgeous day! We had been snowed out the weekend before (yes, a blizzard in May!!??) so we were very happy to see the sunshine! Becky and Luc did such an amazing job being creative with their chilly e-session, that I am very eager for their July wedding...it's gonna be hot!

Sugar and Spice...and Everything Nice

Masut Photography introduces a new type of party...
for girls who just wanna have fun!
Boudoir Parties are fun ways dabble in the world of sexy photography while enjoying the company of friends. Each lady receives the opportunity to create her own unique style through props, costumes and professional posing. Photography sessions are private and discreet -everyone gets one-one-one attention from the photographer and all images are kept in a secure online gallery once they have been edited to perfection!
Boudoir images are fun! They can be sweet, sexy, saucy or seductive...each one is unique!
Every boudoir model receives 5 digitally edited (yes...we airbrush!) images in a secure online gallery for 6 months, along with a complimentary 8x10 for only $50 (taxes included). Additional prints and/or a CD of images may be purchased at an additional cost.
Book a boudoir party with 5 or more guests and the host's session is free!
When attending a boudoir party, here are a few tips to help make your photo shoot a sexy success:
1. Drink lots of water the day before the photography session to ensure glowing, hydrated skin.
2. Avoid wearing tight undergarments (including socks) that may leave creases on your skin.
3. Give extra attention to details: nail polish, eyebrows, hair... we are often our own worst judges when it comes to looking at the final images!
4. Consider what your comfort zone may be (nude/semi-nude/clothed) and what your personal style may be. Would you like to pose in reflection of your loved one's style? Consider his hobbies, career and intimate preferences. Perhaps you can bring a few props to your shoot that would make it more unique and individualized to your personal love life?
Call or email me for more info or to book your own boudoir party!

Amy and Tim's Wedding at Cranberry Resort
Amy had always dreamed of having a 'winter wonderland wedding'.
And I am so honoured to say that I was able to be apart of her dream. Amy and Tim (who currently reside in the U.K) got married on February 26, 2010 at the Cranberry Resort's Bear Estates. It was one of the most breathtaking weddings I have had the privilege to be apart of. We had been blessed with a winter blizzard the night before, leaving the ground and trees heavy with freshly fallen snow. Amy's dress and winter cloak (which was designed by her amazing Mom!) were glamorously gorgeous. The lineup of British groomsmen in striped pants and tails looked particularly sharp with the rich cranberry of the bridesmaid's dresses. And the white horse and carriage.... what winter wedding would be without it!?
Amy dreamed big... and beautiful!
Congratulations Tim and Amy on your wedding. We wish you all the best for many years of love and laughter!

The Value of a Photographer
One of the first few questions a Bride & Groom ask a potential wedding photographer is "how much do you charge." It is a completely valid question, and one that shouldn't be taken lightly. Wedding photographers come in a spectrum of styles and price points, depending on the services they provide and the experience they hold in their pockets. Brides and Grooms on a budget may find a potentially astounding student or beginner photographer at a very low cost. However, buyer should beware when leaving your most treasured memories in the hands of a beginner. Don't get me wrong we all start somewhere, just be sure to view any photographers past work and ask them lots of questions before signing on the dotted line. Experienced photographers wedding packages may seem high to the average customer. But why? Here's what a photographer may consider when building packages for weddings:
- Experience - It is often seen through the prices! Photographers who have been around awhile, have a greater reputation and are in great demand can value their work at a higher price.
- Time - How many hours of photography will they be providing at the wedding? How many hours of pre-wedding prep time will be needed (meetings, equipment etc.) How much time will be spent in post production editing the final products?
- Services - Do they offer more than one photographer? A videographer? Do they provide online galleries, guest books, photo booths?
- Products - How much will albums cost to create, print and deliver? Thank you cards, prints, slideshows. Are they willing to provide the bridal couple with copywrite free images? And at what cost?
- Business Needs - How much does the business need to operate? Lease, utilities, equipment, taxes, it all adds up!
I am sure that the list may go on but these are the main considerations a photographer has to make so $2000 for a wedding may not seem like such a huge number when you divide it into all its compartments and in return, you get a fabulous photographer who's style and artistry matches your individual personalities in capturing your memories. Now who can really put a price on that?

Here Comes the Bride...
Love is in the air! It is bridal show season across Ontario, as vendors gear up to host creative shows to hundreds of brides. I LOVE bridal shows, and highly recommend visiting one if you are planning to get married at any time in the future. Bridal shows are a great way to get to know local businesses: from photographers to bakers, florists, jewelers, hair salons, spas, resorts, dress boutiques, disc jockeys, videographers, invitation creators, wineries and even realtors! Vendors at these shows are quite happy to share examples of their products and services with you, and may even give you a sample or a discount just for visiting them at the show. Most wedding shows will showcase multiple vendors of the same business type (i.e- four photographers), which gives you an excellent opportunity to compare their services and discover what your tastes may be. So usually, within a few hours, you have a stack full of pamphlets, business cards and small gifts. And the fashion shows put together at bridal shows are amazing! What a super way to view dress (and sometimes tuxedo) collections. Florists, DJs, hair studios and jewelers who are demonstrating at the show will often lend their services for the fashion show...allowing you the opportunity to see their work in full motion. It is most definitely a good idea to take a little notebook along with you to jot down ideas or questions that pop up during the show. What a great way to plan a wedding!!!!

Oh, What a wonderful place to be!
This past weekend, Severo and I found ourselves down in our old stomping grounds: Brampton. We drove by our old house in a sort of awestruck daze, wondering "What if we had stayed in Brampton, and had not moved to Collingwood?" I guess we all go through the "what ifs" at some times in our lives. Truth be told, we lived in an amazingly friendly little neighbourhood in Brampton. We were close to friends and family. But...when we starting rhyming off all of the wonderful qualities of living in Collingwood, we quickly realized that we would not have changed our decision to move North at all. In the winter, we have a bounty of wonderful winter-ness; Tobogganing at Wasaga Sands, visiting Blue Mountain and skating around every corner! And, oh..the summers! No one could ever dismiss the beauty of Georgian Bay and all of the recreational activities that go hand in hand with such a spectacular location.
As a photographer, I have come to really appreciate all of the beauty that this region has to offer. There are so many resorts & hidden gems for a photographer to discover! I have been privileged to photograph weddings at glorious venues, such as the Craighleith Ski Club, Cranberry Resort and Talisman Resort. Brides and Grooms from as far as the U.K have approached me about planning weddings within our beautiful region. Not only can the mountain's peaks and the sandy beaches act as playgrounds, they also serve as spectacular backdrops for some of the most gorgeous weddings I have had the privilege to see!
And with all of that being said... I am thinking that "what if..." may be a question of the past.

...Let the restructuring begin!
Masut Photography will be changing the face of it's business very soon!
I have been busy planning and designing a new business plan with my soon-to-be partner, Severo Masut.
Severo, (otherwise known as my husband of 9 years), has been a huge support to me as I created, shaped and molded Masut Photography. His aid at weddings and during engagement shoots has helped me to build a solid foundation for my photography business. As a person with very strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail and a very strong background in computers, I feel that he will be nothing but an asset to my ever-growing company. He is currently busy learning the tools-of-the-trade through Georgian College so that he can be an even bigger assistance!
We plan to have the New Masut Photography launched within the next month... including new wedding packages featuring two photographers and more business hours to better suit all of our client's needs. Keep an eye open for all of these exciting changes!!!!
