When preparing for a Boudoir Photography session, please keep the following in mind:

  • Plan your session for a time that works best for you. Stressing over time restraints may come through on your photographs.

  • Eat a light breakfast/lunch/dinner before your session so that you have lots of energy

  • Invite a close friend or family member to be present during your Boudoir Photography session. It may help you to feel more comfortable in front of the camera to have a familiar face nearby. They may also help out with some of your wardrobe selections!

  • Wear a clear deodorant to avoid white marks on your clothing...especially if you plan to change outfits frequently.

  • If you choose to wear make up, have fun with it! Boudoir sessions allow for a little-bit heavier then usual makeup. Try to aim for neutral colours though, so that it matches with all of the costumes/outfits you choose to wear.

  • Try to drink lots of water for a few days before the session, to give your skin a great healthy glow

  • Avoid wearing tight undergarments the day of photography, avoiding creases in your skin

  • Plan for a few wardrobe changes, so that you can experiment with varying styles. Clothing, shoes, pantyhose, jewelery and small playful props all add up to creative images!

  • Have fun!

Boudoir photography is a collaboration between the model and the photographer and the more you prepare for your boudoir portrait session the more you will enjoy your day of romance!
